I am a PhD student, visual artist, and writer working at the intersection of photography, text, and reflective practice. My research explores how recurring visual representations of the female body—particularly the backbend—connect historical images of hysteria with contemporary yoga culture, raising questions about gender, well-being, and visual power. Alongside my research, I explore these themes through my artistic practice in photography and writing.
I am originally from Sweden and currently based in Aotearoa, New Zealand, at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. My background includes work in journalism and exhibition production, experiences that have shaped my sensitivity to both the making of images and the broader contexts in which they circulate.
